Coffee roasting is a craft that we take very seriously. We roast in small batches that allow human control of the process. We don’t have a single roast profile for all of our coffees. To achieve optimum flavor, we roast each bean at slightly different roast profiles to bring out the full potential. Lighter roasts are livelier with subtleties and sweet nuances; darker roasts have a richer, heavier tone with hints of smokiness and a velvety background.
Contact us for custom gift ideas or small office coffee programs. We will gladly create a custom blend from our regular assortment of flavors and varieties, and for a minimum order, we can also roast your favorite coffee to your specifications.
Where did the Hill of Beans name come from?
Our name is taken from a line by Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) in the movie "Casablanca":
"...And you never will.
But I've got a job to do, too.
And where I'm going you can't follow.
What I've got to do, you can't be any part of.
Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble,
but it doesn't take much to see that the problems
of three little people don't amount to
a hill of beans in this crazy world.
Some day you'll understand that.
Here's looking at you, kid."
